Life Legacy
Hilda M. Castorano, age 84, went into the hands of the Lord on Saturday, April 9, 2011, surrounded by her devoted family. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic and a long-time member of St. Margaret of Cortona and St. Aloysius parish. She was an amazing cook and even in her golden years still enjoyed preparing food for her family. She retired from J C Penney in 1988, after 23 years of service. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Joseph D. Castorano. Survived by her children Vicki (John) Dillon, Jo Ann (Bob) Hummel, Tom (Jeannie) Castorano, Paula (Matt) Davis-Scurlock; grandchildren Jessica (Paul), Jeff, Matt (Virginya), Ian (Dianne), Adam, Michael (Kerry), Shaun, Nicholas, Evan, Ray, Patrick and Jacob; great grandchildren Anna, Vicki, Maximos, Jillian, Tyler, Trevor, Joey and James. Preceded in death by brothers Tony, Pat and Albert Capuano. Sisters Connie Ferrelli, Durna Aquila, and Anna Castorano. Survived by sister Rose Overmyer, sisters-in-law Ann Capuano, Elsie Pagani, Lilda Lombardi, Betty (John) Ford, Anna Jean (Ted) Scott and brother-in-law Annio Castorano. Family and Friends may call Tuesday, April 12, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, at MAEDER-QUINT-TIBERI Funeral Home, 1068 S. High St. with Prayer Service at 7:30 pm Funeral Mass held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 13, at St. Margaret of Cortona Catholic Church, 1600 N. Hague Ave. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice, C/O Mount Carmel Foundation, 6150 E. Broad St, Columbus, Ohio 43213 or Central Ohio Diabetes Association, 1100 Dennison Ave., Cols, OH 43201. A very special thank you to the Palliative Care Unit at Mt. Carmel West Hospital.
